The Bachelor: London Calling

Well the new season aired on Monday, and I finally got a chance to watch it last night.

Matt Grant is the Bachelor.  He's from England, so that adds a little twist to the show.  I haven't decided how much I like him.  From the previews he looks little womanizing, so that doesn't bode well.

I really liked the girl who got the first impression rose--Amanda.  She has a chronic case of the hiccups--she hiccups when she gets nervous.  I thought it was kind of cute.

I also really liked both Erins, Michelle P., and Robin.  They all seemed down to earth but interesting.

Of course the editing is designed to make me feel a certain way.  I found a great blog that has an insider's look at the Bachelor show written by a former bachelorette, Kate Brockhouse from the Andy Baldwin season.

Since reading her blog, I have to say Brad Womack is actually my favorite Bachelor.  Of all the guys he seemed to be the least womanizing and most sincere about being on the show.  And he was definitely the most attractive.

Speaking of Brad, how cool is it that Deanna gets to be the next Bachelorette?  She was the one Brad left standing without a proposal.  All I can say is, it's about time!

Did anyone else watch the Bachelor?  What did you think?

I watched it! I wasn't totally sure how I felt about the bachelor either. On the one hand, I liked his dedication to his family. But on the other hand, getting married just so your parents will know your life and children doesn't necessarily seem like the best choice. You should come to your own need for a partner, not do it based on what you plan as the correct timing. Does that make sense?

Brad got a lot of criticism for his decision not to choose Jenni or Deanna (I really loved Jenni!), but I'm glad that he had the respect for both women to not ask them to marry him if he was not sure about it. It was a difficult and honest decision that he made and from his face he clearly struggled with it! I just don't think that "he had to choose one, he's selfish not to" makes sense--actually, it's so unselfish, because it saves the women so much pain in the future, while putting himself on the public firing line...

Hoping for a good season. I liked Ashlee, Carri, and Marshana, but from the previews Marshana looks like she is going to be really dramatic, which is disappointing. I thought her outfit was cool & was happy she took a risk with that.

I'm pretty sure he is really an iron worker from Pittsburgh. Joe Millionaire lives again!

I loved Jenni too, I wish she was single so she could be the bachelorette!

Joe Millionaire was so sleazy!

Oh, man, Joe Millionaire was so bad! The only thing worse than Joe Millionaire was Season 2 of Joe Millionaire, with all the Eurotrash women! Although admittedly the girl who won (the one who was brought back at the very end) was very sweet.
